About Hill Program Managers


Michael J. Hill has twenty-six years of experience in the insurance industry with the last 18 years as President of Freberg Environmental Insurance (FEI), a large Managing General Agency (MGA).  FEI is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.  Michael founded FEI in 1991 and developed the company into an important component of the environmental insurance industry represented by over 900 insurance agents nationwide and writing over $80,000,000 in insurance premium annually.  As President of FEI, Michael has been involved in all aspects of the insurance industry including actuarial, claims, marketing, reinsurance, risk management and underwriting,

Prior to FEI, Michael was the Product Development Manager for Environmental Risk Insurance Company (ERIC).  At ERIC, Michael developed insurance products for asbestos abatement contractors, the Asbestos In-Place insurance product for building owners, along with a variety of professional liability products for environmental engineers and consultants. 

Michael began his career at United States Fidelity & Guaranty Insurance Company (USF&G) as a casualty underwriter in the Denver Branch office.  When Michael left USF&G he was the Assistant Manager of the Commercial Lines department in charge of fifty employees and over $50,000,000 in annual insurance premiums.   

Michael has a Bachelors of Science in Business Management for Metropolitan State College in Denver Colorado.  He holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.   

Danelle R. Hill has over twenty-two years of insurance industry experience.  In 1991 she helped found a specialty casualty program management company.   She has been involved in every aspect of MGA operations including accounting, claims, human resources, marketing, reinsurance, risk management and underwriting. 

Danelle has developed and managed insurance products for engineers, consultants and contractors, trucking companies, underground storage tank owners and a wide variety of real estate and facility owners.  She was an active participant in the National Association of Surplus Lines Organizations (NAPSLO) and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).  

Danelle has a Bachelors of Arts in Business Communications from the University of Montana and a Masters of Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.  She holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
